Binyamin
(Benjamin)
Yacov said about Binyamin:
Gen 49:27 Benjamin shall ravin [as]
a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall
divide the spoil.
Binyamin with other brothers blessed
people:
Deut 27:12 These shall stand upon
mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and
Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
Moshe said about Binyamin:
Deut 33:12 [And] of Benjamin he
said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; [and the LORD]
shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.
In Judges we read:
Jdg 1:21 And the children of
Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the
Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.
Sons of Binyamin took part in military
operations:
Jdg 5:14 Out of Ephraim [was there]
a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out
of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen
of the writer.
Too in Judges we read about the violation
of a concubine of Levite which did the sons of Binyamin.
"And they passed on and went their
way; and the sun went down upon them [when they were] by Gibeah, which
[belongeth] to Benjamin. And they turned aside thither, to go in [and] to
lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the
city: for [there was] no man that took them into his house to lodging. And,
behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which
[was] also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the
place [were] Benjamites. And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a
wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest
thou? and whence comest thou? And he said unto him, We [are] passing from
Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence [am] I: and I
went to Bethlehemjudah, but I [am now] going to the house of the LORD; and
there [is] no man that receiveth me to house. Yet there is both straw and
provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for
thy handmaid, and for the young man [which is] with thy servants: [there is]
no want of any thing. And the old man said, Peace [be] with thee; howsoever
[let] all thy wants [lie] upon me; only lodge not in the street. So he
brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they
washed their feet, and did eat and drink. [Now] as they were making their
hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the
house round about, [and] beat at the door, and spake to the master of the
house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house,
that we may know him. And the man, the master of the house, went out unto
them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, [nay], I pray you, do not [so]
wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.
Behold, [here is] my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring
out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you:
but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to
him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and
they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the
day began to spring, they let her go. Then came the woman in the dawning of
the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord [was],
till it was light. And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors
of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his
concubine was fallen down [at] the door of the house, and her hands [were]
upon the threshold. And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none
answered. Then the man took her [up] upon an ass, and the man rose up, and
gat him unto his place. And when he was come into his house, he took a
knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, [together] with her
bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel. And
it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen
from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt
unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak [your minds]."
(Jdg 19:14-30)
In chapter 20 we read:
Jdg 20:11 So all the men of Israel
were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
Jdg 20:12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of
Benjamin, saying, What wickedness [is] this that is done among you?
Jdg 20:13 Now therefore deliver [us] the men, the children of Belial,
which [are] in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from
Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their
brethren the children of Israel:
Please reread these lines once more:
"But the children of Benjamin
would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of
Israel:".
Sons of Binyamin began to support this
sin. They were punished.
"But when the flame began to arise up
out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them,
and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven. And when the men
of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that
evil was come upon them. Therefore they turned [their backs] before the men
of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and
them which [came] out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
[Thus] they inclosed the Benjamites round about, [and] chased them, [and]
trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising. And
there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these [were] men of
valour. And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of
Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and
pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them. So
that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men
that drew the sword; all these [were] men of valour. But six hundred men
turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the
rock Rimmon four months. And the men of Israel turned again upon the
children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the
men of [every] city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set
on fire all the cities that they came to." (Jdg 20:40-48)
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
A king Shaul (Saul) and Mordecai were of
this tribe.
In Jeremiah we read:
"O ye children of Benjamin, gather
yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in
Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of
the north, and great destruction. I have likened the daughter of Zion to a
comely and delicate [woman]. The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto
her; they shall pitch [their] tents against her round about; they shall feed
every one in his place. Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up
at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening
are stretched out. Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her
palaces. For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a
mount against Jerusalem: this [is] the city to be visited; she [is] wholly
oppression in the midst of her." (Jer 6:1-6)
Rabbi Shaul was of the tribe of Binyamin.
Rom 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast
away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of
Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin.
In Revelation there is the tribe of
Binyamin:
Rev 7:8 <...> Of the
tribe of Benjamin [were] sealed twelve thousand.
Yoseph
Yoseph was a son of Rachel: "And God
remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. And she
conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: And she
called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son."
(Gen 30:22-24)
Yacov loved Yoseph more than all
his children: "Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children,
because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many]
colours. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all
his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him. And
Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told [it] his brethren: and they hated him yet
the more." (Gen 37:3-5)
Yoseph dreamed these dreams:
"And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have
dreamed: For, behold, we [were] binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my
sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round
about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt
thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And
they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed
yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed
a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made
obeisance to me." (Gen 37:6-9)
In Torah we can read about his life.
In Tehilim there are these lines: "He
sent a man before them, [even] Joseph, [who] was sold for a servant: Whose
feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word
came: the word of the LORD tried him. The king sent and loosed him; [even] the
ruler of the people, and let him go free. He made him lord of his house, and
ruler of all his substance: To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his
senators wisdom." (Psalms 105:17-22)
What the parallels are in his life with
the life of Messiah Yeshua?
1. Brothers of Yoseph didn't recognize
him.
Many people didn't recognize Yeshua too.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and
his own received him not.
2. Brothers of Yoseph sold him for wenty
pieces of silver.
Yeshua was sold for thirty pieces of
silver.
3. Yoseph blessed his brothers:
Gen 42:25 Then Joseph commanded to
fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack,
and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.
Yoseph did three important acts:
he commanded:
- to fill their sacks with corn;
- to restore every man's money into his
sack;
- to give them provision for the way
Yeshua blessed His people abundantly:
"And they say unto him, We have here
but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he
commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves,
and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave
the loaves to [his] disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they
did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained
twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men,
beside women and children." (Matt 14:17-21)
"And Jesus saith unto them, How many
loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he
commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven
loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake [them], and gave to his
disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were
filled: and they took up of the broken [meat] that was left seven baskets
full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and
children." (Matt 15:34-38)
4. Yoseph had forgiven his brothers.
"And when Joseph's brethren saw that
their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will
certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. And they sent a
messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy
brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee,
forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept
when they spake unto him. And his brethren also went and fell down before his
face; and they said, Behold, we [be] thy servants. And Joseph said unto them,
Fear not: for [am] I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil
against me; [but] God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as [it is] this
day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you,
and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them."
(Gen 50:15-21)
Yeshua had forgiven His people too:
Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father,
forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and
cast lots.

Yacov blessed Yoseph:
"Joseph [is] a fruitful bough, [even] a
fruitful bough by a well; [whose] branches run over the wall: The archers have
sorely grieved him, and shot [at him], and hated him: But his bow abode in
strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the
mighty [God] of Jacob; (from thence [is] the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
[Even] by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who
shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that
lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: The blessings of thy
father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost
bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on
the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren." (Gen
49:22-26)
Birthright was given to the sons of Yoseph
after the sin of Reuven:
1Chr 5:1 Now the sons of Reuben the
firstborn of Israel, (for he [was] the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled
his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of
Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
Yoseph blessed people:
Deut 27:12 These shall stand upon
mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and
Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
Moshe blessed Yoseph:
"And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the
LORD [be] his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for
the deep that coucheth beneath, And for the precious fruits [brought forth] by
the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon, And for the chief
things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting
hills, And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and [for]
the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let [the blessing] come upon the
head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him [that was] separated from
his brethren. His glory [is like] the firstling of his bullock, and his horns
[are like] the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together
to the ends of the earth: and they [are] the ten thousands of Ephraim, and
they [are] the thousands of Manasseh." (Deut 33:13-17)
What's the abundant blessings!
"and [for] the good will of him that
dwelt in the bush: let [the blessing] come upon the head of Joseph, and upon
the top of the head of him [that was] separated from his brethren."
- "And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him
out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am]
I." (Exod 3:4)
"His glory [is like] the firstling
of his bullock, and his horns [are like] the horns of unicorns: with them he
shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they [are] the
ten thousands of Ephraim..."
- Most likely these lines are about Yehoshua (Joshua the son of Nun) who was
of the tribe of Ephraim.
In Revelation we can read:
Rev 17:14 These shall make war with
the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King
of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.
There is the tribe of Yoseph in Revelation:
Rev 7:8 <...> Of the tribe of
Joseph [were] sealed twelve thousand. <...>
In Joshua 16 we can read about the
inheritance of the tribe of Yoseph.
Ephraim and
Menashe
Ephraim and Menashe were the sons of Yoseph.
"And Joseph called the name of the
firstborn Manasseh: For God, [said he], hath made me forget all my toil, and
all my father's house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God
hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction." (Gen
41:51-52)
Gen 46:20 And unto Joseph in the land
of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of
Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
Yacov blessed Ephraim and Menashe:
"And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in
his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward
Israel's right hand, and brought [them] near unto him. And Israel stretched
out his right hand, and laid [it] upon Ephraim's head, who [was] the younger,
and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for
Manasseh [was] the firstborn. And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before
whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life
long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads;
and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and
Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. And when
Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it
displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's
head unto Manasseh's head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father:
for this [is] the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father
refused, and said, I know [it], my son, I know [it]: he also shall become a
people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be
greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. And he
blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make
thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh."
(Gen 48:13-20)
Gen 50:23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's
children of the third [generation]: the children also of Machir the son of
Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.
Yehoshua (Joshua the son of Nun) who was of
the tribe of Ephraim.
Numb 13:8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.
Numb 13:16 These [are] the names of
the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son
of Nun Jehoshua.
Yehoshua had led
Jews to Canaan. Messiah Yeshua will lead all believers (both Jews and
Gentiles) in Him in His Kingdom.
Deborah lived in the territory of the tribe
of Ephraim:
Jdg 4:5 And she dwelt under the palm
tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of
Israel came up to her for judgment.
This tribe took part in military operations:
"Out of Ephraim [was there] a root of
them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir
came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the
writer. And the princes of Issachar [were] with Deborah; even Issachar, and
also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben
[there were] great thoughts of heart." (Jdg 5:14-15)
Jdg 7:24 And Gideon sent messengers
throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and
take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of
Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and
Jordan.
"And the men of Ephraim said unto him,
Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to
fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply. And he said
unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? [Is] not the gleaning of
the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer? God hath delivered
into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to
do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had
said that." (Jdg 8:1-3)
The men of Ephraim quarrelled with Jephtah
too:
"And the men of Ephraim gathered
themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore
passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call
us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire. And Jephthah
said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of
Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. And when
I saw that ye delivered [me] not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over
against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand:
wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me? Then
Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and
the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites [are]
fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, [and] among the Manassites."
(Jdg 12:1-4)
The quarrels are the works of the flesh:
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh
are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of
the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gideon was of the tribe of Menashe:
Jdg 6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my
Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family [is] poor in Manasseh,
and I [am] the least in my father's house.
Jdg 6:16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and
thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
"Then all the Midianites and the
Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over,
and pitched in the valley of Jezreel. But the Spirit of the LORD came upon
Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him. And he sent
messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he
sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came
up to meet them." (Jdg 6:33-35)
Because of the sins of a king Jehu G-d
"began to cut Israel short", incl. the land of Menashe:
2Kings 10:31 But Jehu took no heed to
walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed
not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.
2Kings 10:32 In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and
Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;
2Kings 10:33 From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites,
and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which [is] by the river
Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
Rev 7:6 <...> Of the tribe of Manasses [were] sealed twelve
thousand.
Zvulun
(Zebulun), Issachar, Gad, Dan, Naphtali, Asher, Shimon (Simeon)
In Torah we read about Leah:
Gen 29:33 And she conceived again,
and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I [was] hated, he
hath therefore given me this [son] also: and she called his name Simeon.
"And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob
a son. And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice,
and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan. And Bilhah
Rachel's maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son. And Rachel said,
With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed:
and she called his name Naphtali. When Leah saw that she had left bearing,
she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife. And Zilpah Leah's maid
bare Jacob a son. And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name
Gad. And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a second son. And Leah said, Happy am
I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name
Asher." (Gen 30:5-13)
"And God hearkened unto Leah, and she
conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. And Leah said, God hath given me my
hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name
Issachar. And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son. And Leah
said, God hath endued me [with] a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with
me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun."
(Gen 30:17-20)
Yacov blessed them: "Zebulun shall
dwell at the haven of the sea; and he [shall be] for an haven of ships; and
his border [shall be] unto Zidon. Issachar [is] a strong ass couching down
between two burdens: And he saw that rest [was] good, and the land that [it
was] pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto
tribute. Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan
shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse
heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. I have waited for thy
salvation, O LORD. Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at
the last. Out of Asher his bread [shall be] fat, and he shall yield royal
dainties. Naphtali [is] a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words." (Gen
49:13-21)
About Shimon:
"Simeon and Levi [are] brethren; instruments of cruelty [are in] their
habitations. O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their
assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a
man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. Cursed [be] their anger,
for [it was] fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them
in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel." (Gen 49:5-7)
The tribe of Zvulun was concerned in
the foreign commerce, the tribe of Issachar was engaged in farming and studied
Torah. The tribes of Dan and Gad defended his people.
"Issachar [is] a strong ass
couching down between two burdens: And he saw that rest [was] good, and the
land that [it was] pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a
servant unto tribute." - study
of Torah (in free time)
When David received reign, there were 200
people only of the tribe of Issachar (there were thousands people and tens
of thousands people of other tribes):
"And these [are] the numbers of the
bands [that were] ready armed to the war, [and] came to David to Hebron, to
turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD. The
children of Judah that bare shield and spear [were] six thousand and eight
hundred, ready armed to the war. Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of
valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred. Of the children of Levi
four thousand and six hundred. And Jehoiada [was] the leader of the
Aaronites, and with him [were] three thousand and seven hundred; And Zadok,
a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two
captains. And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three
thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the
house of Saul. And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight
hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by
name, to come and make David king. And of the children of Issachar, [which
were men] that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to
do; the heads of them [were] two hundred; and all their brethren [were] at
their commandment. Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war,
with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: [they
were] not of double heart. And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with
them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand. And of the Danites
expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred. And of Asher, such
as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand. And on the other
side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of
Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred
and twenty thousand. All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a
perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the
rest also of Israel [were] of one heart to make David king." (1Chr
12:23-38)
But please read these lines:
1Chr 12:32 And of the children of
Issachar, [which were men] that had understanding of the times, to know what
Israel ought to do; the heads of them [were] two hundred; and all their
brethren [were] at their commandment.
These 200 people have bina - insight,

way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider
shall fall backward. I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD."
- Shimshon (Samson) was of this tribe. He defeated Philistines. More: Jdg
14-16.
Jdg 16:28 And Samson called unto the
LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I
pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the
Philistines for my two eyes.
Jdg 16:29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which
the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right
hand, and of the other with his left.
Jdg 16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he
bowed himself with [all his] might; and the house fell upon the lords, and
upon all the people that [were] therein. So the dead which he slew at his
death were more than [they] which he slew in his life.
Gad
- There are three words in Hebrew with the same consonants: (good) luck, to
cut off and to attack.
Asher (Gen
49:20) - "Concerning Asher, he foretells, That it should be a
rich tribe, replenished not only with bread for necessity, but with
fatness, with dainties, royal dainties, and these exported out of Asher,
to other tribes, perhaps to other lands." (Wesley)
"Naphtali [is] a hind let loose:
he giveth goodly words." -
Barak was of the tribe of Naphtali. Read the song of Deborah and Barak (Jdg
5).
Messianic meaning:
Isaiah 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness
[shall] not [be] such as [was] in her vexation, when at the first he lightly
afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did
more grievously afflict [her by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in
Galilee of the nations.
Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light:
they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light
shined.
"Now when Yeshua (Jesus) had heard
that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; And leaving
Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in
the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: That it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, The land of Zabulon, and the land of
Nephthalim, [by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in
the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. From that time Yeshua
(Jesus) began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at
hand." (Matt 4:12-17)
Moshe blessed the tribes of Israel:
"And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice,
Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents. They shall call the
people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of
righteousness: for they shall suck [of] the abundance of the seas, and [of]
treasures hid in the sand. And of Gad he said, Blessed [be] he that
enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of
the head. And he provided the first part for himself, because there, [in] a
portion of the lawgiver, [was he] seated; and he came with the heads of the
people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel.
And of Dan he said, Dan [is] a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan. And
of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the
blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south. And of Asher he
said, [Let] Asher [be] blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his
brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. Thy shoes [shall be] iron and
brass; and as thy days, [so shall] thy strength [be]." (Deut 33:18-25)
"They shall call the people unto
the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness.."
- These lines are about Jerusalem temple.
David said:
Psalms 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of
righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
The sacrifices of righteousness is to
give back due to Israel too!
Rom 11:11 I say then, Have they
stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but [rather] through their fall
salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
There are all these tribes in Rev.7
(without the tribe of Dan).
In Ezek.48 there are all tribes:
"And these [are] the goings out of
the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures. And the
gates of the city [shall be] after the names of the tribes of Israel: three
gates northward; one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.
And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three gates; and
one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan. And at the south
side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three gates; one gate of
Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun. At the west side four
thousand and five hundred, [with] their three gates; one gate of Gad, one
gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali. [It was] round about eighteen thousand
[measures]: and the name of the city from [that] day [shall be], The LORD
[is] there." (Ezek 48:30-35)
