Dear Dan, please tell us about your
ministry.
-Tikkun Inernational is a network of congregations and ministries in
the United States. Our goal is to strengthen and plant Messianic Jewish
congregations that are Yeshua centered, strong in the power of the Spirit, Torah
and discipleship. We are also in partnership with ministries in Israel,
Russia, Ukraine, and South America. Our partnership with two Israel
ministries, Ohalai Rachamim and Revive Israel is very important. There
goals are the same in Israel as ours in the U. S. Tikkun was formed
in 1984 but not under that name.
We also work with other ministries, including Messianic
Jewish Bible Institute, and the Union of Messianic Jewish congregations, and
their school the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute.
How do you understand these lines?
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
9 Tribulation and
anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of
the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh
good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: Romans 2:9,
10
- The Jewish people are in an
irrevocable covenant with God. That covenant includes a special blessing
and special responsibility. When we fulfill our covenant responsibilities,
we are especially enriched. When we reject these responsibilities, we come
under more severe trials, for to whom much is given much is required. One
of the covenantal blessings applied in the N. T. is that all should be concerned
to see the Jewish people embrace Yeshua. The priority of "to the Jew first"
should be a universal stand of all.
Do your ministry help to Jewish people in
the countries of former USSR (humanitarian help etc.)
?
- Yes, our adjunct related ministry called Gateways Beyond is very
involved in this. Tikkun's International team serves as the board for
Gateways which is based in Cyprus. In addition, Messianic Jewish Bible
Institute is one of our partnership ministries and is involved in this
aid.
Please tell us about your family a
little.
- Patty and I have four children. One is in
heaven due to a tragic fire six years ago. He was 12 at the time. The
other three are fully committed to serving the Lord in a Messianic Jewish
context. My oldest Ben is 29 and has two children (a son and a daughter)
with his wife Lorena, Rebecca is 27 and has a daugher with her husband
Chad. My youngest daugher Simcha (20) is in the Israeli Army. My wife
Patty and I minister as a team and are constantly together, which we love.
