EZRA 7-10
6 This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe
in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king
granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon
him.
7 And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the
Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem,
in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of
the king.
9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and
on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good
hand of his God upon him.
10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it,
and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. (Ezra 7:6-10)
he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to
Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. For Ezra had
prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in
Israel statutes and judgments - Ezra came to Jerusalem because of God was
with him. God chose Ezra because of he had prepared his heart to study, to
teach Torah and to fulfil it.

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance. |
(Ezra 8:21)
A fast and prayer are very
important for all believers in Yeshua (Jesus).

Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. |

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. (Ezra 9:1-2)
