Interview with  Jeff Friedman, Assemblies of God World Missionary to the worldwide Jewish community

Our guest is Jeff Friedman, leader of ministry Jacob's Hope (www.jacobshope.com)

- Dear Jeff, please tell us about your ministry in detail.
- The goal of this ministry is to bring hope to Jacob's children, the Jewish people around the world. This is the first time the Assemblies of God in America have authorized this kind of work among the worldwide Jewish coimmunity. This will be done in 3 main ways. First, we will bring humanitarian aid, food, clothing, medical care to Jewish communities around the world. We have already begun this in Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Israel and Ethiopia. Second we will work with existing Messianic congregations. We will do this with teaching, training and bringing resources so these congregations can better reach their communities. Third, we will do community outreaches and seminars in conjunction with existing Messianic works.

- How do you share Besora Tova with Jewish people?
- Sharing the Good News with Jewish people is never easy. The most important thing in my understanding and after 17 years as a Messianic Rabbi is to put the Good News back into its original Jewish context. Helping Jewish people understand that believing in the Jewish Messiah, the King of the Jews, does not make a Jew something else but rather completes all that G-d intended a Jew to be.

- How many Christians pray for Israel?
- This is a difficult question. There are no hard statistics as to the number of Christians who pray for Israel.  Unfortunately the majority of churches do not. The good news is that more and more christians and churches are becoming interested in the Jewish roots of the faith, and their responsibility to the Jewish people. This is a large part of what I do as well. Traveling to churches around the world to teach on the Jewish roots and the obligations of the church to Israel.
