Interview with leader of Association of Messianic Congregations

Our guest is Steve Shermett, president of Association of Messianic Congregations (http://www.messianicassociation.org)

Dear Steve, there are these lines in Bible:
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

What are your first words to Jewish people and Gentiles when you share the Good News with them?
- Each situation requires a different approach.  It is important however that eventually (tactfully) the conversation gets to the topic of sin.  People must know of their spiritual state.  After their state is addressed it then becomes fitting to mention the solution to the problem, our Savior Yeshua.

Please tell us about your association, your congregation, about yourself and your family a little.
- Congregation Beth Sar Shalom was established in Tucson, Arizona, in 1991.  At that time it was my wife and I and around 30 people.  Our family has now grown to 6 (3 boys and 1 girl ages 11-4).  The congregation has around 100 people in it, Jews and gentiles.

We started the AMC a couple of years ago because we desired an association of Messianic Congregations that considered sound doctrine important. People can read about our history, and beliefs at www.messianicassociation.org .
