Living faith in God
In this article I'd
like to tell you about people who had living faith in God. Bible tells us
about these people.
1.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Because of they believed in God they '' were
cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace''.
Dan 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king,
O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are] not careful to answer thee in this matter.
Dan 3:17 If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from
the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king.
Dan 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not
serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Dan 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage
was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: [therefore] he spake, and
commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was
wont to be heated.
Dan 3:20 And he commanded the most mighty men that [were] in his army to
bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, [and] to cast [them] into the burning
fiery furnace.
Dan 3:21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their
hats, and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning
fiery furnace.
No burning fiery
furnace didn't damaged them:
Dan 3:28 [Then] Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed [be] the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his
servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded
their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own
God.
2. Daniel. Because of he believed in
God Daniel was trown into the ditch of lions .
Dan 6:7 All
the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors,
and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to
make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for
thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
Dan 6:12 Then
they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast
thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God
or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of
lions? The king answered and said, The thing [is] true, according to the law of
the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
Dan 6:13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which
[is] of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor
the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Dan 6:14 Then the king, when he heard [these] words, was sore displeased
with himself, and set [his] heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured
till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
Dan 6:15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king,
Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians [is], That no decree nor
statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
Dan 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast [him]
into the den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom
thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
God
rescued Daniel.
Dan 6:19 Then
the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of
lions.
Dan 6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice
unto Daniel: [and] the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the
living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee
from the lions?
Dan 6:21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
Dan 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths,
that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me;
and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
Dan 6:23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that
they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the
den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Have we the
SUCH FAITH which Daniel had?
3. Jonah. He was in
the belly of the whale 3 days and 3 nights.
Jon 1:17 Now
the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the
belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Jon 2:1 Then
Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
Jon 2:2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and
he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, [and] thou heardest my voice.
Jon 2:3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas;
and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over
me.
Jon 2:4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again
toward thy holy temple.
Jon 2:5 The waters compassed me about, [even] to the soul: the depth
closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
Jon 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her
bars [was] about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption,
O LORD my God.
Jon 2:7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my
prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
Jon 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
Jon 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I
will pay [that] that I have vowed. Salvation [is] of the LORD.
Jon 2:10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon
the dry [land].
Have
we the SUCH FAITH which Jonah had?
4. Stephen. Do you
remember people stoned Stephen?
Act 7:59 And
they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my
spirit.
Act 7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not
this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
5. Rabbi Shaul
(apostle Paul). He suffered many times.
2Cor 11:23 Are
they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I [am] more; in labours more
abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
2Cor 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I forty [stripes] save one.
2Cor 11:25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I
suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
2Cor 11:26 [In] journeyings often, [in] perils of waters, [in] perils of
robbers, [in] perils by [mine own] countrymen, [in] perils by the heathen, [in]
perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in]
perils among false brethren;
2Cor 11:27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger
and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
Have
you the SUCH FAITH which rabbi Shaul had?
Let
us to increase our faith in God!
Heb 12:4 Ye
have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Heb 11:38 (Of
whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains,
and [in] dens and caves of the earth.
Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith,
received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without
us should not be made perfect.
