MAZL TOV!
Or About
Jews with love
"... were not they sent to all peoples
also for test of them by love...?"
V.Martzinkovsky
I love my people. I love them for the
inexhaustible energy, an eternal vital force,
an ability to find a way out even from the
impasses. Jews are like an apple-tree
which each year gives to us ripe fruits in
spite of the weather. Jews are like the sun which
warms us its beams. Jews are like that small streamlet which is running somewhere...
Why does this streamlet attract people's attention much more than the biggest rivers
and enormous oceans? Why do we, Jews, this small nation in the earth, always is object
of big attention
of people?
There is an esteem of oldest
people in Jewish families, a husband and a wife love very much
one another and
children. Yes, a child is beloved baby for every daddy and mum,
but in the
Jewish families the child is an invaluable treasure! Jewish parents look after every "string" of
this small man, for each his step. And when he, this kiddy, will grow up and create his family, he
will be also to love his
kids.
"All most valuable, that we, people of
culture, live, - professor Vladimir Martzinkovsky wrote,-
we received through
Jewish people. A pure faith in One God... is given to this
people and
through them to all mankind. People
need just this faith. " What the good lines!
"To live means to create, and to create means to believe. And if the faith
which flamed in your youthful heart began to die away, if you have not big courage to confess it boldly
and openly, you peer to mighty images of giants of faith, for example, to Daniel who did not afraid be
thrown for the faith in
the Alive God in ditch filled with predatory lions. "
Yes, Jewish people were first people who
received the Word of God. But we are not the best people.
We have only more
duty, more responsibility!
Let us more light would proceeds from
us, Jews, as it proceeded from the Jewish prophets who spoke the
truth:
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is
an abomination unto me; the new
moons and sabbaths, the calling of
assemblies, I cannot away with; it is
iniquity, even the solemn
meeting. Isaiah (1:13).
No, these lines did not cancel the
commandments of God about Shabat etc. The question is about another:
about such Shabats, such the calling of assemblies etc.
Let us read these lines:
16 Wash you, make you
clean; put away the evil of your doings from before
mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve
the oppressed, judge the
fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together,
saith the LORD: though your sins be
as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall
eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be
devoured with the sword: for the
mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Isaiah,
1:16-20)
7 ... the priest and the prophet have erred
through strong drink, they are
swallowed up of wine, they are out of the
way through strong drink; they err
in vision, they stumble in judgment.
(Isaiah, 28:7)
"And how could, really, this
mighty voice of love to truth not raise of hatred of those people
who builds for
themselves the mansions of lie and a deceit on the base of violence and a
crime?"-
A. Gor'kiy asks reasonably in an article
"The Jewish question ".
But always there were
Jews who follow the truth. That is why Jewish, according to A.
Gor'kiy's
words, "always was by that
beacon where unremitting protest inflamed proudly and highly
over all world against all dirty,
all base in human life, against rude acts of violence of the
person over the person,
against disgusting platitude and spiritual ignorance. "
... Why do Jewish people are so
cautious in dialogue? They are like nestlings who are always on
the alert.
But if they need know something they can to find out all.
They have such inborn ability!
Are Jews bad-tempered? If someone
think so let him to show them that he is their friend,
a good friend. And he will see that Jews are kind and sympathetic people. But whence is this care
in dialogue, the first rage, mistrust? This is result of long-term wanderings through the world, of
bad, at times very cruel, manipulations with them. How many they were offended (and it is told softly!)
Christians who according
to Bible should show only love! Did know they Jesus and the
first Christians
"People who professes Christ
consciously, they not only do not share anti-Semitism, but they have
sympathy to Jewish people - they pray for salvation of Israel as V. S. Solov'ev did in the last hours
of his life... "
- V.Martzinkovsky wrote.
Here are the words of Russian philosopher
Vladimir Solov'ev:
"If Jews are enemies to us we should
recollect a commandment... : love your enemies. But if they
are our friends what for do persecute friends?"
According to V.Martzinkovsky's words,
this phrase was in the declaration to Russian government
about that to give the equality of rights to Jews. This declaration drew up in 1890 by famous
Russian people. But
it appeared only in Paris and remained there...
In Brit Hadasha (the New Testament) there
are lines even
more sharp - about a wild olive tree.
Do you remember Romans (11:17-22) ?
17 And if some of the branches be broken
off, and thou, being a wild olive
tree, wert graffed in among them, and with
them partakest of the root and
fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if
thou boast, thou bearest not the
root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were
broken off, that I might be graffed
in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were
broken off, and thou standest by
faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural
branches, take heed lest he also spare
not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and
severity of God: on them which fell,
severity; but toward thee, goodness, if
thou continue in his goodness:
otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
We can read in Romans 11 that
"all Israel will be saved":
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye
should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own
conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the fulness of
the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved...
I write these lines with love. And if you
love sincerely, from the heart, you speak all.
How do us, Jews, win this enemy - greed,
sometimes even to the small things, this big
inclination to
accumulation of money? How do ''cool'' ardour of Jewish women? And
how, at last, do get rid of this
arrogance which we have?
"The recipe" is simple -
LOVE! We need study love as God loves us Who has saved our
Jewish people in spite of anything... And the love will win
all!
