PAROCHET (PAROKHET)

There was parochet (parokhet) in the Temple which divided between Sanctuary (the holy place) and Holy of Holies (the most holy):

31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:
32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.
33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. (Exodus 26:31-33)

"This veil was used to separate Hakodesh (the holy place) from the Kodesh Hakodashim (Holy of Holies) - the most sacred part of the entire Temple. Only the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) was permitted to pass beyond the parochet once each year (during Yom Kippur) to make atonement for the sins of the people (Leviticus 16). The parochet was a constant reminder that sin separated people from the presence of God." (http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Articles/Parochet/parochet.html)

When Yeshua yielded up the spirit, “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom”.

Matt 27:50  Yeshua (Jesus), when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Matt 27:51  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Luke tells us some details:

44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. (Luke 23:44-45)

What does it mean for us?

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Yeshua (Jesus),
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; (Hebrew 10:19-20)

Rav Shaul wrote:

Eph 2:14  For He is our peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us];
Eph 2:15  Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;
Eph 2:16  And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Now we all both Jews and Gentiles have the way of salvation in Yeshua.

Rom 15:8 Now I say that Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises [made] unto the fathers:

Rom 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for [his] mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Rom 15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

“… there is a place in the Rabbinic writings called Yoma. (Yoma 39:B) Our Rabbi's taught that the last 40 years before the destruction of the Temple, the following happened; On Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, they would hang a scarlet cord, which they would somehow, I suppose, associate with Isaiah 1:18, they would hang a scarlet cord before the Holy of Holies when the high priest went in, on the Day of Atonement to make the sacrifice. Now the prophet Daniel chapter 9, as we'll see, said the Messiah had to come and die before the second temple would be destroyed. Jesus and the Olivet discourse (Luke 21, Matthew 24 etc.), was simply echoing what Daniel had said; the Messiah would come and die before the second temple would be destroyed. And the Rabbis taught during the last forty years before the destruction of the temple, which happened circa 70 AD, the scarlet thread did not become white, nor did the western lamp in the temple shine. And the doors of the Holy of Holies would fling themselves open of their own accord. For the forty years before the destruction the of temple, the scarlet thread never turned white but remained red. What they believed was, that if the people's sins were forgiven, the scarlet cord would turn white. If the people's sins were not forgiven on the Day of Atonement, it would not turn white, but remain scarlet.” (http://www.letusreason.org/Juda3.htm)

"Forty years before the destruction of the Temple (30 C.E.)
The lot did not come up in the right hand,
nor did the crimson stripe become white, nor did the westernmost light burn;
and the doors of the Holy Place of the Temple opened of their own accord, until Rabbi Yochanon ben Zakkai rebuked them. He said to the Temple:

'O Temple, Temple, why do you alarm yourself? I know full well that you are destined to be destroyed, for Zechariah ben Iddo has already prophesied concerning you 'Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour the cedars' (Zech. 11:1).'
