THE RIGHTEOUS AMONG THE NATIONS. WHO ARE THEY?
The Righteous Among the Nations are people of different nationalities
who rescued Jewish people in World War 2.
In Israel there is the Avenue of the Righteous Among the Nations.
Names of saviors are specified on the Wall of Honor in the garden of the
Rithteous Among the Nations at Yad-Vashem in Jerusalem.
On January 1, 2010 it was fixed 23,226 rescuers. There are 6,195 the Righteous
Among the Nations in Poland. In Ukraine there are 2,272 people, in Russia there

Of course it is difficult to say how many the rescuers were in the world exactly. We can read in Yad-Vashem web-site: "These figures are not necessarily an indication of the actual number of Jews saved in each country, but reflect material on rescue operations made available to Yad Vashem".
