"Enter ye in at the strait gate..."

Messiah Yeshua said in in the Sermon on the Mount:

Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matt 7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

What does it mean "enter ye in at the strait gate"? To enter through the narrow gate is to study Bible and to live according to Bible!

Josh 1:8 This book of Torah (the law) shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.

Luk 8:21 And He answered and said unto them, My mother and My brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

To enter through the narrow gate is to suffer a lot too!

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Moshe said to Israel:

Deut 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Yehoshua said to Israel too:

Josh 24:15 ... choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

In Jeremiah we read:

Jer 21:8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

In Talmud we read:

"Study leads to precision, precision leads to zeal, zeal leads to cleanliness, cleanliness leads to restraint, restraint leads to purity, purity leads to holiness, holiness leads to meekness, meekness leads to fear of sin, fear of sin leads to saintliness, saintliness leads to the [possession of] the holy spirit, the holy spirit leads to life eternal..." (Babylonian Talmud, Abodah Zarah 20b http://www.come-and-hear.com/zarah/zarah_20.html#20b_11)
